Dream Farm Layout

As we continue to look for a property within the TMZ (30 mile zone) of Austin...we have created a 'Dream Farm Layout' with our vision of what 'My Family's Farm' could look like.

Our vision includes 3 main aspects the farm:

1. Family Living

   1. Host Family - Main House

      1. 2 story home made up of 12 container homes in a U-Shape

      2. Every room on the bottom have doors that lead out to the center courtyard to foster a greater sense of community

      3. Downstairs right 2 containers:

         1. 1 Guest room for Bigs in their first 90 day stay or emergency placements

         2. 1 Guest room for Host Family guests and Friends of the Family

         3. 2 bathrooms (1 jack and jill & 1 guest bathroom for living areas)

      4. Downstairs left 2 containers:

         1. Gym

         2. Laundry Room: 3 washers/3 dryers

         3. Non-Profit Office: for staff meetings/work/etc

      5. Downstairs Center 2 containers:

         1. Living room

         2. Kitchen

         3. Dining room

      6. Upstairs right 2 containers:

         1. 3 Host family bedrooms

         2. 1 full bathroom

      7. Upstairs left 2 containers:

         1. Master Bedroom & bath

         2. Host office

      8. Upstairs Center 2 Containers:

         1. Study (homeschool room for host family)

         2. Den (2nd living area)

   2. Big Tiny Homes

      1. Each Big home is a 1 bd/1ba 16x30 layout

      2. Each home will face the 'center gathering area' to foster a sense of community

      3. Enter from the porch into living room, then kitchen, then bathroom, then bedroom in the back of the house

   3. Steward Homes

      1. Each Steward home is a 2 bd/2 ba single -wide manufactured home

   4. Future Host Family Home

      1. Future host family homes are double-wide 4 bd/3 ba homes

2. Barn Animals

   1. We plan to have chickens, pigs, horses and cattle.

   2. There will also be lots of gardens around the property to raise our own vegetables.

   3. The animals and gardens will provide food for the farm teaching sustainability to our Bigs.

   4. We hope to make items from the farm to sell at local farmer's markets: eggs, soaps, candles, breads, vegetables, etc. These will offer yet another way for our Bigs to learn to sell and market products. Bring money into the organization and most importantly raise awareness for of our farm and what we're doing.

3. Event Center & AirBnBs

   1. The Event Center will be the focus of the 'Family Business' offering a space for weddings, retreats, conferences and any other type of event.

   2. There are also 8 tiny home (cabins) available to rent along with their Event rental or as just standard AirBnb stays for those in the city looking to escape the city for a staycation in the country.

   3. The Bigs will work for the 'Family Business' learning hospitality, marketing along with the ins and outs of running a business.
